Christopher M. Lynch grew up in the small town of Ellsworth, Maine--population 3200. It was here that he began to see. Engrossed in the traditional arts from an early age, when Lynch was sixteen he decided to make the move into photography, and Instilled Images was born. When asked - Why did you choose photography?, Lynch promptly replied, -Drawing just took too long.
Lynch went on to exercise his creative eye with some of the top touring bands of his time. By age 20 he had already photographed R.E.M., Ziggy Marley, David Bowie, Grateful Dead, and nearly 60 other local and national musicians. It was while backstage, at the first music festival he shot, where Lynch realized that photography was what he was going to do for the rest of his life.
After college, Lynch was hired by ad giant, Young & Rubicam NY to establish their in-house photo studio. In this time Lynch gained first-hand knowledge of the commercial photography process, and worked with some of the most well-respected creative teams in the ad industry. While at Young & Rubicam, Lynch developed campaigns for AT&T, Bronx Zoo, Anderson Consulting, Sony, United Airline and The Star Alliance.
Currently, Lynch operates out of his studio in the Chelsea Design Center, and has added clients Office Max, Nickelodeon, Walmart, Bud Light, Simple Shoes, Citibank, and even Andy Warhols Susperstars to his roster.
For me its about the creative process, said Lynch, I am not here to just push a button,
my team is brought in on projects to help enhance the creative teams vision and produce the best image we can. And, we have fun doing it.
